Private equity interest in the Gastroenterology Industry (GI) has accelerated in recent years due to increasing demand for GI care among aging population and increasing reports of disease.

With more than 15,000 active gastroenterology physicians practicing (nearly half over age 55), there is expected to be a shortage of 1,600 physicians by 2025, making consolidation of the market more attractive.
