Concept Molds, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of molds for plastic injection molders serving the automotive, medical, electronics, and other industries, has been acquired by Medbio, Inc., a premier contract manufacturer specializing in injection molding, assembly, and packaging for the medical device and biotechnology industries.

Founded in 1992, Concept Molds’ experienced engineers offer consulting, part design, mold flow analysis, capability studies, and detailed mold designs. These resources enable the Company to manufacture complex products, including tandem, two-shot, insert, and prototype molds. Seasoned tool makers possess state-of-the-art mold-building techniques that result in innovative, cost-saving molds. Specific capabilities include a full array of CNC equipment with robotics, hard milling, EDM, scientific molding, laser welding, and diamond polishing. The Company is able to run certain operations lights out, 24/7. Concept Molds is located in Schoolcraft, MI.

Medbio is an ISO 13485:2003 certified contract manufacturer for the medical and biotech industries, founded in 2004. Value-added services include design support, product development, project management, precision injection molding, certified ISO Class 8 clean room molding, and certified ISO Class 7 clean room assembly. Medbio is located in a newly renovated 45,000-square-foot facility adjacent to the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, MI. This cross-functional facility was designed and built to meet the stringent requirements of medical and biotech device.
